Barber near Lyss

Lyss is about 14 km from Biel, but the direct train makes it a short ride. From Biel station it's a few minutes' walk to GYAN at Zentralstrasse 22.

Lyss, the rail hub of the Seeland

Lyss is one of the largest municipalities in the Seeland, and above all it's well connected. Several lines meet at Lyss station, and the one that matters here is the route between Bern and Biel. Living in Lyss, you can head either way quickly. Since 2011 Busswil has also been part of the municipality, with its own station on the same line.

From Lyss, Biel is the nearest bigger city: the old town, the lake and a busy centre full of shops around the station. That's exactly where you'll find us, a few minutes' walk from the station at Zentralstrasse 22.

Train or expressway: two ways into Biel

The easiest option is the train. Hop on in Lyss, ride to Biel without changing and walk on from the station. No parking, no circling the city, and you can use the ride to dig out photos of the cut you want. Show them to us at the start and we'll know right away where you're headed.

If you drive, take the expressway towards Biel. Allow about 25 minutes for the roughly 14 km into the centre, depending on traffic. In town, park in one of the public car parks and walk the last bit.

An appointment worth the trip

If you're coming in specially from Lyss, you might as well get more than a quick trim. The GYAN Full Service is our most complete option: haircut, beard, face treatment, wash and styling in about 50 minutes. A little shorter, the GYAN Premium package covers haircut, beard, wash and styling. And if it's just your hair, the men's haircut includes a consultation, scissors, clippers and clean outlines, whether you want a side part, a low fade or a skin fade.

You'll sit in a brown leather chair, with a red Persian carpet hanging on the wall. You can pay in cash, by card or with TWINT.

Plan it instead of waiting

With a longer journey, it makes sense to book online. Pick your service and time, get instant confirmation, and choose your train to match. Walking in is still fine during opening hours: Monday to Wednesday 9am to 7pm, Thursday and Friday until 8pm, Saturday 8:30am to 6pm. The late Thursday and Friday evenings work well if you're still in Biel after work.

Zana and Hikmet both work in the salon. For now you can book Zana online, and walking in works too during opening hours.
