Men's Haircut Trends 2026: What Biel Is Wearing Right Now
Modern mullet, textured crop, taper or classic side part: the men's haircut trends of 2026 and what's popular in Biel, plus The GYAN Standard look.

Biel never quite fits into one box: bilingual, creative, rooted in watchmaking and facing the lake. The haircuts we do every day at our salon on Zentralstrasse 22 are just as varied. Still, a few clear directions are shaping 2026. Here is our take on what men are wearing right now, and who each look suits.
The 2026 trends at a glance
The modern mullet: controlled, not wild. The mullet is back, but it has grown up. Short, cleanly worked sides, often with a subtle fade, texture on top and a little extra length at the back that falls softly onto the neck. The difference from the eighties original is in the blending: everything flows, nothing looks like a costume. The modern mullet suits men with thick hair and a bit of confidence, and it works especially well with a natural wave.
Textured crop: the low-effort all-rounder. Short, structured, with a fringe that drops lightly onto the forehead. The textured crop is probably the easiest trend of the year to live with. A little matte paste and you are done in two minutes, whether you are heading to work in the old town or out for an evening by the lake. Paired with a skin fade it looks razor sharp; with a soft taper it stays understated.
The taper: the quiet classic. Not everyone wants a bold fade. A taper only shortens the hair at the sideburns and the nape and leaves the rest natural. The result looks groomed, grows out nicely and works in the office as well as on a weekend in the Seeland. If you want to understand exactly how a taper differs from a fade, read our guide to skin fade, low fade and taper.
The classic side part. Timeless and very present in 2026: the side part with clean, tidy sides. It looks sharp without being stiff, especially when the top is not styled too flat. A great choice if you want a cut that goes with a shirt and blazer and still feels current.
The GYAN Standard
Then there is the look we think of as our house standard at GYAN: precise outlines, a clean blend on the sides, a top that keeps natural movement and a shape built around your head and your routine. Not a trend that will look dated in six months, but a cut that simply sits right. For the full experience of haircut, beard, face treatment, wash and styling, try the GYAN Full Service.
How to find your trend
Before you show up with a photo from the internet, run through a quick check:
- Hair type: thick, wavy hair carries a mullet or crop more easily; fine hair benefits from shorter sides and texture on top.
- Head shape and face: a good barber adapts lengths and transitions so the proportions work.
- Routine: how much time do you want to spend in the morning? A taper is more forgiving than a skin fade.
- Rhythm: sharp fades need touching up more often than soft transitions.
In the end, what matters is not what is trending online but what looks good on you. That is why we take our time in the salon, surrounded by sculpted cream-white mirror frames, brown leather chairs and the red Persian carpet on the wall.
